Friesian Gelding for Sale in Attica, IN

FOR SALE: EMRYS • Born in 2005 • Friesian / Tennessee Walker cross, Tobiano Paint (Dark Brown aka Black/White) Gelding, about 17hands • Is not registered but can be in various associations (that’s on you after purchase) • Broke to drive, but not used for this in at least 7 years • English and Western – but better with collection and riding in general with English • Can jump pretty high from standing position, would make a good hunter/jumper prospect • Can ride bit or bitless, very sensitive and needs very light hands • Leg trained for commands and also verbal cues • Does well with lunging, not so well in roundpen until you can get his attention from autopilot trot • Not spooky or excitable • Very friendly and super easy to catch, once used to his person • Stands great for the farrier every time • Used on trails and on shoulder of busy highway traffic with large semi’s, with no issues • Calm with children-lets them ride bareback with consciousness of their behavior • Loves to give “kisses” like a dog once he knows you, has not tried to bite ever • No health issues, likes his back hips massaged before rides • Knows his place in the herd and does not fight about it • Does not eat grain-keeps weight on fine in winter with hay. If anything, small amounts of pellets as supplement • Does not need full barn shelter, used to having a small walk in shelter for wind/rain only • Does fine in winter with no blanket or other covering. No need to keep a halter on him when not in use either Custom made tack (headstall with perfect fitting bit, reins, chest-shown in pic below) that is reflective and glows in the dark (bright orange), 2nd “cheap” headstall with smaller bit, halter and nice girth will come with him (saddle and saddle pad will not) Asking 3500 willing to negotiate for the right person-more pics upon request. You are responsible for all moving. Currently Located outside of Attica IN at a friend’s ranch. I will need to coordinate viewing between 3 of us, please be patient with this, best to do on Saturdays if possible. Please email sonjitree@yahoo.com , if interested. Serious inquiries only. References or pictures of other horses onsite suggested. Also, a little bit about what you are looking for and what he will be used for will be helpful to determine if he is a good fit or not. I am being a bit particular since he is such an amazing horse and am not rushing to sell. My other horse is more of a work in progress than I originally thought and I have no time to do anything with this amazing horse. No fault of his own, he WANTS to work!

About Attica, IN

Attica was laid out by George Hollingsworth and platted by David Stump in 1825. The completion of the Wabash and Erie Canal through the town in 1847 brought a considerable amount of growth to the area, and ended (in Attica's favor) a long-standing rivalry with the neighboring communities of Rob Roy, Williamsport and Covington. Attica is the nearest town to the location where Paul Dresser is believed to have written the state song, " On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away", and the bridge over the Wabash River bears his name. The Attica Downtown Historic District, Attica Main Street Historic District, Brady Street Historic District, Marshall M. Milford House, and Old East Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
