Fjord Gelding for Sale in Rocheport, MO

Buddy is an 8 year old, 14.1hh, Fjord/Appaloosa grulla gelding. Located in Rocheport, Missouri. Buddy is definitely a character! Has been clipped, loaded, bathed, lunged, cross ties, stands for the farrier and get. UTD on shots & Coggins. Goes western and english. Barefoot. He has free jumped up to 3'3 with ease and jumped 2'9" under saddle. Has flying changes on cue. Has been cross country schooling and was fearless. At his first schooling show, he won 3 out of his 4 classes. Classes were 2'3-2'6. He is a forward ride but is never hot. He's definitely a confidence builder. Needs a rider with a deep seat and a knowledge of how to use your seat and leg instead of their mouth to ride and steer. Needs an experienced and very patient rider. NOT for a lesson program! One person horse. Needs pasture mate. With time I think he would become a hunter but he is young and loves the encouragement and thrill of going fast! Has gone on trail rides and was very calm and brave. Buddy has been started on the barrel pattern and has loped it. Very green to it but I will be taking him to fun shows for experience until he sells. He will wrap a barrel and get low without dropping his shoulder. Price is negotiable to a good home and will increase with more training and experience. Buddy is a wonderful horse who is ready for you to finish the way you want! Priced at $6,000. Email, call, or text for more info, pictures, videos, and to come try this wonderful guy!

About Rocheport, MO

Rocheport was a trading post for both settlers and Native Americans. After the purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to lead an expedition to explore the western territories. On June 7, 1804, their journey led them to the convergence of the Missouri River and Moniteau Creek near the future settlement of Rocheport. Clark noted the features of the land, flora, fauna and native pictographs on the bluffs in his journal. The Sauk leader Quashquame led a village of Sauk, Meskwaki, and Ioway near Rocheport, along Moniteau Creek in the first decade of the 19th century; this village was noted by Zebulon Pike in 1806.
