Mustang Mare for Sale in Cave Junction, OR
This beautiful dun filly with no white is a genetic gold mine. Sired
by Kiger Diamond Rio, 2003 Grand Champion Kiger Stallion, and foaled by
Kitten - whose foals have tested positive for the D1 gene cluster. This
gene (found in some but not all Kigers) was formerly only thought to
exist in the Andalusions and Lusitanos of Spain and Portugal. It is
passed maternally from mother to daughter.
BattleCat is built like a tank and moves like a cat. Her siblings have
traditionally been easy to start and excellent all around saddle horses.

About Cave Junction, OR
For thousands of years, the Takelma Indians inhabited the Illinois Valley. Their culture was destroyed when gold was discovered in the early 1850s, causing the subsequent Rogue River Wars. After an 1853 treaty, most of the Takelmas lived on the Table Rock Reservation. In 1856, after the wars ended, they were moved to the Grand Ronde Reservation and the Siletz Reservation. The first gold in Oregon history was found in the Illinois Valley, as well as the largest gold nugget (17 lb or 7.7 kg).
