Appaloosa Mare for Sale in Covington, LA
This mare is by All Hands On Zip and is a good all around prospect. She has open show placings in Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle. Trail, over fences, Showmanship and Hunter in Hand training are in progress. My 6- year - old is riding her at home at a walk and trot. She is jumping 2' -2'6" courses. This mare is super sweet, and great with small children and adults. She isn't for the baby beginner, but she doesn't require a rider with a lot of experience, just someone with a little confidence and a quiet, soft way of handling. She is very sensitive and smart, so she learns quickly and cues easily. She's extremely smooth to ride and can collect to a slow lope or extend for the hunter classes.

About Covington, LA
The earliest known settlement by Europeans in the area was in 1800 by Jacques Drieux, during the British West Florida period. In 1813, John Wharton Collins established a town with the name of Wharton. He is buried on the corner of the city cemetery directly across from the Covington Police Department. There are conflicting stories about how the city came to be named Covington. Many historians believe the city was renamed for General Leonard Covington, a hero of the War of 1812.
