Murphy is your next superb, all-star gelding! Whether it be trails, obstacles or ranch work, this gelding absolutely thrives and is a joy to ride. Murphy has proven himself to me in all areas of working on the ranch. He has become my main, trusted mount helping me with calving, branding, pasture doctoring, gathering, sorting and everything in-between. Working on the ranch, Murphy has become accustomed to regularly crossing water, bridges, riding alongside highways, and is well versed in riding out solo. Murphy is not buddy or barn sour and is uncomplicated to ride by himself. He is confident, and consistent in his rides. Murphy very regularly hauls by himself to new pastures to ride through or move cows, horse shows, neighboring ranches, and has also been to town numerous times. While I’m in town, Murphy doesn’t just take me to the ice cream shop, he goes on in and has ice cream with me! He’ll also carry a flag, has been rode English on the flat and over jumps, and will happily lay down on command. Murphy has now competed in 3 different ranch versatility shows and been in the top ribbons every time, placing in the top 2 of his division at each show. He handled the new environments and all of the stimulation that a show has to offer with ease. Murphy is easy to shoe, easy to catch in a large pasture, load/unload, and lives a simple life out on pasture, in our herd, where he has always been middle of the pecking order. He is UTD on bodywork (cranial sacral/myofascial release) vaccinations (5 way +Flu/Rhino) teeth, sheath, coggins and is currently barefoot with zero issues. He requires no maintenance, and has zero limitations. We have owned this wonderful gelding for 3 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed his partnership! Murphy is the complete package; ready to step into anyone’s program and discipline of choice! He is a mellow, easy going guy who is readily available to his rider, and in light of that, would be a great fit for a wide variety of riders and different disciplines.
