Samba is one of the most incredible big ponies you will find. She is a spotted saddle horse x Missouri fox trotter. She is thick enough to carry the adult riders, with excellent bone and a big foot. Safe enough to carry the smallest riders (beginners, kids). She is absolutely game for anything and so willing. She handles everything in stride. She has exceptional athleticism and brains to match. She could win some lower-level jumping competitions right now for you ladies or children interested. She is fearless on the trail crossing everything from bridges, rivers, ditches, logs, any body of water, traffic safe, dogs, wildlife, and joggers. Nothing phases her. She is safe and loves attention. She has a puppy dog personality. Easy to catch in the pasture. Gets along with everything in the pasture. Loads and unloads well. Great for the farrier. Great for the veterinarian. She is just a super fun horse to be around. If you’re looking for one everyone can enjoy, do not miss out on her. She is also at such a great age, and so many years left! You will love Samba. She is one in a million and started in mounted shooting and mounted archery, as seen in the video. Please watch the entire video; It speaks for itself.

About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
