Belgian Warmblood Gelding for Sale in Girard, PA

Ruger is a Belgium QTR cross, standing at 17.3 and is an easy-going mount with a soft easy trot, more walk trot than canter run but will move out if urged. Ruger has been with me since just over a year old, all of his training is Clinton Anderson based and also included two months with a certified trainer in thae CA method working with both of us. Willingly comes when called so easy to catch. Goes either Western or English. Knows his lead changes, side passes and backs with ease, moves to the block and mounts either side. Mainly used on trails, and as my ECSMP mount, and a couple of fox hunts. He works well on ground and is responsive to rein and leg aids, he has no vices other than peppermint and kisses, with a good all around temperment.

About Girard, PA

Girard's history began with a petition to "Township Status" in 1832 by reassigning lands previously allocated to neighboring municipalities (Springfield, Fairview, and Elk Creek). The name is in honor of Stephen Girard, a banking tycoon of the late 1700s and early 1800s. Stephen Girard, a resident of Philadelphia at that time, was chosen for a variety of reasons. He owned much of the neighboring Springfield Township, and had been admired by the residents in the region. Additionally, Girard officials had been lobbying with Stephen Girard's foundation, upon his death in 1831, to be the site of the bequeathed Girard College.
