Saddlebred Mare for Sale in Freeburg, IL

AVAILABLE ON THEHORSEBAY,COM. SALE ENDS ON 03/26 @ 5PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Dixie’s Daisy Duke will catch as much attention as Miss Duke did back in the day! Dixie is an absolutely beautiful beauty queen!!! She is standing around 16h. She is a 12-year-old registered pleasure saddle horse (I do not have the original papers, but I have a copy.) Dixie is a perfect 10/10 to look at, but there is so much more to her than what meets the eye… she is a very safe, laid-back girl that is content to walk on a loose rein. She is never in a hurry, eases along, and enjoys the scenery. But when do you want to move out and go? You don’t have to tell her twice; she will move out easily in a smooth 4-beat gait and gaits smoothly for any rider! She will gait out but slows right back down as soon as you ask her and doesn’t raise a fuss. Dixie is great on trails and will cross creeks, ditches, and logs. She is very traffic safe around log trucks, semi trucks, ATVs, and even skid steers, as we can see in our videos. She is also safe around gunfire, tarps, whips, trash cans, and leaf blowers and will ride anywhere she wants. Dixie has been on numerous camping trips and has ridden in multiple states. She has been ridden by adults and ridden by younger kids as well. Dixie is one that the whole family has enjoyed and can enjoy for years to come! Please enjoy her videos and call Adam if you have any questions.

About Freeburg, IL

Freeburg lies in the fertile and rolling southern Illinois plains between the Kaskaskia and Mississippi Rivers. It was platted in 1836 as the town of Urbana by immigrants to this area from Virginia around 1800. The first European settlers of Freeburg were of English and Irish ancestry. There were five migratory Indian tribes that crisscrossed each other in Illinois; the Peorias, Cahokias, Kaskaskias, Tamaroas, and Michiganics. It is said that Turkey Hill north of town was a popular Indian campground that also attracted many early settlers because of the view it provided of the surrounding countryside.
