Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Woodburn, KY

Poncho is a 6yo Red Roan Quarter Horse gelding. He stands 14.2hh & is made like a tank! Poncho has been with us since last year & has come a long way in his time at our farm in KY. He has worked the stockyards and doctored cattle in the pasture to packing beginner riders down the trails for a weekend camping trip. Age confirmed by a vet. He comes with a full vet inspection & soundness exam done on 11/12/22. Full set of shot, dental & farrier records from the time we’ve owned him. He’s up to date on everything. He will lope right out of his tracks from a stop. My children have had a blast trail riding & loping around bareback on this fancy guy. He’s easy to catch & handle but prefers a gentle hand. He loads, ties, clips & bathes. He is a little finicky about having his back feet shod but gets better every time we have him done. Would go fine without shoes, but we ride some rocky terrain regularly, so I’ve kept him shod. He holds weight well & can handle a day’s work. Has held many a calf for doctoring. We even pulled a calf in the pasture with him! will rope both ends. He gets along with everyone in the pasture, he is not the boss or mean to other horses. He will cross mud, logs, ditches, etc., without hesitation. He will tie out on a picket line all weekend without an issue. Stands to be tacked up & mounted. Will pony colts without a problem. His videos speak for themselves. Take him & trail ride him or use him for a hard day’s work on the ranch. Poncho will make a great horse for almost any level rider. Sweet & easy to get along with. Call Celsi with any questions you may have. Located in Woodburn, KY.

About Woodburn, KY

Woodburn began as a hamlet known as "Mason's Inn," which served as a stop along the stagecoach road that roughly followed what is now U.S. Route 31W. It is believed to have gotten its current name from a nearby forest that had been destroyed by fire. The L&N established a depot at the site in 1859, initially calling it "New Woodburn," but reverting simply to "Woodburn" by 1864. A townsite was platted next to the depot in 1865, and the city was incorporated the following year.
