Barley is a 5-year-old 53-inch (13.1 hands) bay roan curly gelding. A curly is known to be hyper allergenic and for their great disposition. Barley is one of the sweetest ponies you’ll come by. He’s the first to meet you at the gate and will follow you like a puppy until you leave. Barley has great ground manners. He never gets in a rush when leading and will stand tied with or without others. We’ve had him out on various trails. He went in, and through anything, I asked. He is sure-footed when going over logs, through brush, and down hills. He’ll quietly step over each log, never trying to jump them. He goes into the river without hesitation and enjoys walking in it. Barley will lead the pack without hesitation and follow the trail. Or he’ll stay in the back quietly and follow along. He doesn’t mind if another horse gets out in front or leaves. He doesn’t pay any attention to vehicles or dogs. Barley will trot and lope circles in an arena, but he’s never done arena work. We’ve trotted him through the barrels, and he goes whenever we put him. But he’s never been trained to do any of that. He just goes along with whatever you ask. He will trot off easy, and you must push him into a lope. He stops well and backs up. He is not your fancy broke-using pony. He plows reins and likes to stay quiet. He is great with kids and beginners. Barley rides in a smooth O-ring snaffle bit and handles fine in it. He will pick up all feet and is good for the farrier. He’s the low man in the pasture and tries to get along with everything. Barley is a sweet, calm pony looking for his next kid to get attention from. ? Thomasville, Mo
