Welsh Pony Mare for Sale in Lebanon, PA

Needing to thin my herd as I just dont have enough time in my days. I have owned Athena for 4+ months and had hoped she would fit into my western lesson program, she is more of a English horse though. She is 14.1 hands tall and 12 years old. She is very well mannered on the ground and bonds quickly with thr right leader. Athena was very shy and nervous when I first got her so she will need someone can keep teaching her. Pros: Stands for brushing, bathing, farrier, bridling, and mounting. Good in crossties and regular tie as long as theres another horse around. She does get nervous and paws if her pasture pal leaves her. Has a good walk and a decent trot. Fast stop and listens to Woah. Bends neck on both sides. Has a nice back up. Rides best in a hackamore or rope halter. Will lunge and free lunge. Knows how to use side reins. Loves to jump when free lunging! Doesn't test fences and does well by herself. Goes over bridges, poles, jumps, and obstacles. Goes through water and cowboy curtain. Stands for tarps and fly spray. Is up to date on 5 way shot, deworming, feet trimmed, and her teeth were just done. Cons: She will pace in her stall if left alone in the barn. Needs more riding time, when she wants to be done she just stops or tries to back up. Some times will try and nip at your feet when asking her to walk forward. Also needs to be loped more. Needs a soft hand with the bit, She was very head shy when I got her, but now will let you touch her all over. She will act like she is high strung and fast but give her 10 minutes to settle and she is on the lazier side. She is more of a looky horse and needs a rider that will help build her self confidence. Trying to be completely honest about her as I would love to see someone make her into the horse i know she can be. Lives in Lebanon PA. I can get videos if you would like or come meet her.

About Lebanon, PA

Native tribes in the area of what is now Lebanon included the Shawnee, Susquehannock, Gawanese, Lenape (or Delaware), and Nanticoke peoples. Lebanon was settled by European colonists in 1720, many with the family names of "Steitz" and "Light", along a creek that was then named "Steitz Creek". The Light patriarchs built a fort to protect against Indians and named it "Light's Fort". The town was laid out in 1753, incorporated as a borough on February 20, 1821, and became a city on November 25, 1885. It adopted the commission form of government, consisting of four councilmen and a mayor.
