Little Joe is a 4-year-old spotted saddle horse gelding. He stands 15 hands tall and is quite a dandy. Little Joe has been here at our place for two years. We bought him as a two-year-old, and our boys, who are 11 & 15, have done almost all of the training on him. Joe has always been the kind that has never been in any trouble whatsoever. I think he was broke when his mom had him. From his very first ride, Joe has had a very natural, super smooth gait. He does not require any special shoes, special bits, or fancy riding. Even if you are a first-time rider or a rider that is new to gaited horses, you will be able to get along with Joe and enjoy the ride. I would say that Joe is the type of horse that has more “whoa” than “go.” He will pick up and gait any time you ask, but he likes to walk along. He will ride in the back of the group or will take the lead when you ask him to. Joe is the horse used when we have friends or guests over who need an extra horse. He is the guy we get. He’s no stranger to any kind of trail riding. He can handle the easy beginner-type riding all up to the most rugged, steep, or muddy terrain. He’s been ridden up and down the steepest hills and through the deepest waters, on narrow trails in daylight and dark. He’s been to town, and he’s been used to check cows and to check fences. Our kids have enjoyed showing him at local fun shows and using him as their own personal playground. We’ve even done some hunting from him and used him to teach others to ride. Little Joe has more personality than a puppy dog and never meets a stranger. His new family is surely going to love their new horse.
