Luxe is a very special boy to me as I have had him from a young age and have gotten to experience all his firsts right alongside him. From his first saddle to ride, to trail ride, this boy has never ceased to amaze me. Luxe is willing, kind, and truly would climb into your pocket if he could fit. Luxe is 16’1” sticked so I may refer to him as my little boy, but he is all but little on the outside. Luxe will side pass up to the mounting block and has a gorgeous floating trot. He will both extend his trot but also has a very slow western pleasure trot when asked. He has the brains, color, and height to boot, with unlimited potential in front of him. Some horses come to you at the gate. Luxe often just waits there so as not to miss the chance for attention, so yep, he is easy to catch. He is also respectful on the ground, great for the farrier, and loads like a champ. He will stand for bathing and fly spray as well as just stand patiently when tied. Luxe has been on trails both with other horses and alone. He will lead or follow and gets along well with other horses. He is a very typical gelding, easy-going, just loves life, chill with a capital “C.” He has seen bikes, rollerblades, strollers, skateboards etc. He’s even been to the local Dairy Queen. Most of our trails around here have heavy foot traffic, so he’s gotten tons of exposure. I have also taken him towards the foothills. He is sure-footed and great in the mountains as well. Luxe has seen all kinds of livestock and wildlife and will cross water and pass through tunnels or over bridges. Luxe will stand a mount, has a big stop and moves off leg and rein. He has had lots of bomb proofing and worked on obstacles. Luxe lunges nicely and is well versed in round pen work. He stands for grooming, and saddling, takes the bit like a gentleman, and is never cinchy. Honestly, the sky is the limit with this boy. He would excel in ranch work, dressage, hunter, western pleasure or trail.

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
