Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Laporte, CO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY DOT COM. SALE ENDS ON 8/14 @ 2:30PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Persephoni Is one of the finest Trail and cow mares in the country. She will go anywhere you point her up and down the steepest grades possible. She will cross anything asked water, bridges, tunnels, traffic, or wildlife; nothing phases her. We’ve had complete beginners on her moving cows up in the Rocky Mountains. I’ve hauled her back east and ridden phenomenally on the trails. If you’re looking for one to cover some ground with, she is used to long days and tons of miles. She rides out well alone or in groups with no fuss. She loads /unloads as one should. She is amazing for the farrier and vets. She is a very sweet mare with no marish attitude and will not disrupt your herd in the barn or out in the pasture. She is up to date on everything and requires no maintenance. She is completely sound in all ways and a very easy keeper on hay or pasture. She will walk all day loose reined or stay in a smooth ground covering gait. She also has a very smooth lope and will ride western, English, or bareback as seen in the video. She is absolutely stunning and will get you noticed on the trails or in some Trail competition. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you! We thank you in advance! Payment is expected the next business day. We can help arrange shipping. Feel free to call anytime. In the event we do not answer, please send me a text, and I will respond back to you as quickly as possible. We are up in the mountains a lot for a few days at a time, so just as soon as I can, I will. Thanks again for all your inquiries. We hope to make someone else’s dream come true with this special horse!

About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
