Draft Stallion for Sale in Covington, LA

This colt is super nice. He'd be great for an amateur or youth that wants to train their own. He leads, loads, hauls, clips, ties. He's great for veterinary or farrier work. He is well started under saddle and rides English, western or bareback. He's current on all vaccinations, dewormings, and Coggins test. I pony my 3- year - old on him and my 6- year - old rides him at a walk and trot. He's been ridden by multiple riders of all shapes, sizes, and abilities, and is well behaved. He's sensible and not accident prone. He'll drink any water offered and is an easy keeper. I expect him to mature at 16-1 to 16-2 hh.

About Covington, LA

The earliest known settlement by Europeans in the area was in 1800 by Jacques Drieux, during the British West Florida period. In 1813, John Wharton Collins established a town with the name of Wharton. He is buried on the corner of the city cemetery directly across from the Covington Police Department. There are conflicting stories about how the city came to be named Covington. Many historians believe the city was renamed for General Leonard Covington, a hero of the War of 1812.
