Shetland Pony Gelding for Sale in Los Gatos, CA

12 yr old, 11hh, large Shetland pony. Excellent group/individual trail pony (not herd bound). Jumps 2ft with rider. Loves to work, doesn’t break gait. Great for kids who like to run around. Trained pony for driving or pulling a cart. Trailers, ties, stands for farrier, bathes, saddles easily, completely sound. Can be ridden English or western. Very fun in gymkhanas. Asking $1,000. I would love to see this pony in a lesson barn or a hunter/jumper barn. We want him to find a forever home where children will always be able to ride him. This pony is acceptable for beginners. I have started children on him on a leadline and lungeline with no problems. He has not been regularly ridden for several years, understandably he needs some tune ups. Still is in great shape. Does not buck, rear, crow hop or fool around. Tosses head, but that habit will dissipate with regular work. Does not take off with kids. Amazing trail horse, he loves to explore and is not barn sour. Simply walks along with other horses. Please email me with questions, for photos, and for interest in test rides.

About Los Gatos, CA

The town's founding dates to the mid-1850s with the building of a flour-milling operation, Forbes Mill, by James Alexander Forbes along Los Gatos Creek. The mill's two-story stone storage annex has been preserved as a museum just off of Main Street. The settlement that was established in the 1860s was originally named for the mill, but the name was changed to Los Gatos after the Spanish land grant. The town was incorporated in 1887 and remained an important town for the logging industry in the Santa Cruz Mountains until the end of the 19th century. In the early 20th century, the town became a thriving agricultural town with apricots, grapes and prunes being grown in the area.
