Dutch Warmblood Gelding for Sale in Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Ollie is a sweetheart. Simple as that. Everyone who comes in the barn ends up falling in love with him; from 3 year olds to 70 year olds...he just manages to wrap around your heart that way. He's a goof; he loves to cuddle, and spend time with you, help you pick the stall or pick his feet either way he wants to be doing what you're doing. He'll be 19 in January. He is a Dutch Warmblood that was imported from the Netherlands when he was 3. He spent most of his life in the jumper ring, doing levels ranging from 3 to right below grand prix (level 7). Showing pretty heavily at WEF. He is stunning and beautifully put together, as well as a jaw dropping mover. I have had him for a little over 4 years, which is about how long he's been away from the show world, at least at that level. He has done many local shows throughout our 4 years. We have focused mainly on dressage and retraining from jumper brain, as well as trail riding, bareback riding, night rides, obstacle courses, halter, tricks, you name it and he’s probably done it or had it done to him since he was a teenager’s horse for these past 4 years. And he really is a champ about everything. He's the kind of horse who can sit a pasture for 2 months and then have someone throw a saddle on and go for a ride, he'll be out of shape, but he's a pretty laid back guy that will try and give you his best anyway. He is currently having time off do to overstretching his left hind tendon. He can be turned out, but will need some down time before being able to do anything more than very short, easy, light riding sessions. He can be turned out with other horses, he is a wonderful pasture mate, one of the kindest alphas I have seen in a group. He loves playing and grooming and sharing his hay (unless of course its the good stuff) with everyone he’s out with. He has had a very tough life with showing at a very high level, with not the best treatment. He was pushed to max constantly and not always cared for. For the life he's lead he's a pretty tough cookie. He's almost 19 and after having some time to take it pretty easy while letting his leg rest, will be able to be ridden, and do trails, light riding, the fun stuff, but he deserves a life where he wont be pushed. Relax, have fun, have 'his' person; because he truly wants someone to play with him, love him, cuddle, tell him all their worries so he can make them go away, but not be excepted to have to perform again. He really is a one of a kind horse, and if that just one of a kind creature. I just want the best for him, and painfully enough that might mean finding a home for him. It is not a must, I am more than willing to keep him as he recovers and then afterwards to live a laid back life, but that's not what would be fair to Ollie. I do not have the time to give Ollie the care, love, and attention he wants so badly. So finding him a home is a not a must, but something that Ollie really wants and maybe looking for one we will find someone who just as badly needs Ollie as he needs them. Please feel free to contact me about anything, anytime. This horse is a beautiful, but more importantly kind soul; who is breaking my heart by needing what I can't give him right now, but putting him first is more important. So as crazy long and weirdly written as that was, Ollie needs someone and if you need a loving, cuddly, secret keeping, goofy teddy bear than you both might just have gotten lucky.(Shipping aid can be available to the perfect home, as well as adoption fee, up to date on everything, front shoes, perfect for farrier, dentist, vet, as well as being clipped, cross tied, trailered, etc, etc.)

About Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Prior to development, the land that became Palm Beach Gardens was primarily cattle ranches and pine forests, as well as swampland farther west. In 1959, wealthy landowner and insurance magnate John D. MacArthur announced plans to develop 4,000 acres (16 km 2) and build homes for 55,000 people. He chose the name Palm Beach Gardens after his initial choice, Palm Beach City, was denied by the Florida Legislature, because of the similarity of the name to the nearby Palm Beach. MacArthur planned to build a " garden city" so he altered the name slightly.
