Paint Gelding for Sale in Canton, GA

Picasso, nicknamed Pico (for short), is a 7 yr old paint gelding who is 15.2 hands tall. He has two captivating blue eyes and a stocky build. He stands, ties, leads, and loads in trailer. He does well for a bath. He is middle in the pecking order in a herd. Easy to catch when on pasture. He does not crib, respects fencing, and has good stall manners. He is easy to handle. He is great for the farrier, excellent hooves and does not require shoes. He is currently barefoot. He has no past injuries or any lameness issues; 100% sound. He has been started under saddle and is green broke to ride. He has been ridden both english and western. He is good for saddling, bridling, and mounting. Pico rides in a smooth snaffle bit. We would recommend an advanced rider due to him being green. He has not been over fences, but may be while we continue to further his training. He has been trail ridden a few times and did absolutely great. He is not spooky. He is sane, level headed and laid back. He also has speed and is very athletic. He would be an excellent option for any direction you want to take him. Pico's owner is asking $900. Video will be available soon. Check out starryeyedstables.com for contact info

About Canton, GA

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the site where Canton would be founded lay in the heart of the Cherokee Nation. During the first 100 years of Georgia's history, Northwest Georgia was generally considered "Indian Country" and was bypassed by settlers going West. Georgia had made a treaty with the federal government in 1802 shortly after the Revolutionary War to relinquish its Western Territory (it claimed the Pacific Ocean as its western boundary) in exchange for the removal of all Indians within its boundaries. Although other tribes had been removed, the Cherokee remained. Since this was the heartland of the Cherokee Nation, the state and nation were reluctant to disturb them.
