Half Arabian Mare for Sale in Taylor, TX

Name: Shamrock Luck Year of Birth: 2007 Breed: Pinto (possibly half-Arabian) Height: 14.3 hh Adoption Fee: $700 Located: Taylor, TX Shamrock Luck’s owner surrendered her to BEHS when he was investigated for neglect. She recovered after spending a week in an equine hospital, and we discovered that she was a nice horse who someone had worked with. She attended the 2012 Bluebonnet Horse Expo, and she was the first adoption at the event! She was returned in 2014 because her adopters were downsizing their horse operation. Shamrock Luck appears to have had some riding time before coming to BEHS. Once adopted, she spent a month with trainer Dan Keen and then was ridden for over a year by her adopters. They say she’s a very nice riding horse but probably not for a timid rider. She’s a gorgeous horse and gorgeous mover – she could do well at open shows, Pinto shows (if registered by her new adopter), or trail ridden. Available for adoption (with contract) from Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. No breeding or resales.

About Taylor, TX

In 1876 the Texas Land Company auctioned lots in anticipation of the arrival of the International-Great Northern Railroad when Taylor was founded that year. The city was named after Edward Moses Taylor, a railroad official, under the name Taylorsville, which officially became Taylor in 1892. Immigrants from Moravia and Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) and other Slavic states, as well as from Germany and Austria, helped establish the town. It soon became a busy shipping point for cattle, grain, and cotton. By 1878, the town had 1,000 residents and 32 businesses, 29 of which were destroyed by fire in 1879.
