Straight Egyptian, Al Khamsa, Blue List. His tail female is to Bint
El Bahreyn. SCID Clear, tested EVA Negative. His dam is a daughter of
the Internationally acclaimed Alidaar and out of an *Ibn Monet El Nefous
daughter. Ibn Layalia has a medium build. He~s solid but stretchy in
type and strongly carries after the dam side of his pedigree. He has
a long, thin neck and high tail set. His head is beautiful with dark,
expressive eyes, and great ears. As a sire, he has produced BLACK. He
consistently produces exotic faces, long thin necks, high tails sets,
solid bodies, and overall good conformation. Foals born in the USA and
France in 09. Some of his foals have sold to the Middle East. Price is

The young town was severely damaged during the Flood of 1851. In 1857, coal was being mined from the McCready bank, a site along Bear Creek four miles west of Ottumwa. In 1868, Brown and Godfrey opened a drift mine four miles northwest of town. By 1872, Brown and Godfrey employed 300 men and had an annual production of 77,000 tons. In 1880, the Phillips Coal and Mining Company opened a mine two miles northwest of town.
