Percheron Mare for Sale in Canton, GA

Miss Bella is a stunning grey percheron mare who is 14 years old and 16.2 hands tall. She stands, ties, leads, and loads in trailer. She does well for a bath. She is pretty high in the pecking order in a herd. However, she is not marish. Easy to catch when on pasture. She does not crib, respects fencing, and has good stall manners. She is easy to handle. She is great for the farrier, excellent hooves and does not require shoes, she is currently barefoot. She has no past injuries or any lameness issues; 100% sound. She is broke to ride and has been ridden both english and western. She is good for saddling, bridling, and mounting. She rides in a smooth snaffle bit. We would recommend an advanced beginner rider for Bella. She has not been over fences, but may be while we continue to further her training. She has been trail ridden. She has been exposed to water, bridges, traffic, and dogs with no issue. She is not buddy or barn sour. Bella also drives, single and double, but we have not driven her in a while. She would make a gorgeous carriage horse. We also believe she would excel at a therapeutic center. Her owner is asking $5000. Bella has a lot of personality and you will fall in love! Come meet her for yourself! Video will be available soon. visit starryeyedstables.com for contact info

About Canton, GA

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the site where Canton would be founded lay in the heart of the Cherokee Nation. During the first 100 years of Georgia's history, Northwest Georgia was generally considered "Indian Country" and was bypassed by settlers going West. Georgia had made a treaty with the federal government in 1802 shortly after the Revolutionary War to relinquish its Western Territory (it claimed the Pacific Ocean as its western boundary) in exchange for the removal of all Indians within its boundaries. Although other tribes had been removed, the Cherokee remained. Since this was the heartland of the Cherokee Nation, the state and nation were reluctant to disturb them.
