Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Lovell, WY

2005 FOUNDATION QUARTER HORSE GELDING CHEX RICKASHAY (Pocos Rickashay/Dyno Chex by Doc O Dynamite) Please read the entire article before contacting me. Chex is a 10 (almost 11) year old gelding I have used for the past four years for 4H, showing and barrel racing. He is very laid back and even a little on the lazy side. He loads in any horse trailer, bathes, stands for farrier/vet and has very good ground manners. I have had children on him but he IS NOT a kids horse. I AM NOT advertising him a barrel horse because a few years ago we were in an accident and I haven't raced on him since. So here are a lot of his qualities: I have used him for 4H/FFA showing. He is an all around horse. I've used him for halter showmanship, reining, western pleasure, western riding and trail. He is very broke. He does rollbacks, side passes, two tracks, flying lead changes (if you've been practiciing) and can be ridden on a loose rein. He is very soft and very, very smooth to ride. He can be ridden bareback with a halter and if you ride him consistently he will go bridleless. I've used him for jumping and by no means did he have any official training in it, but you can put an english saddle on a go over smaller jumps. (He really enjoys jumping). He has been used on pack trips and trail/mountain riding. He is a nice trail horse will ride off by himself or with a group and is not barn sour (if rode consistently). The owners before me entered him in reining futurities where he did place and win points. He will really plant his hind end in the ground and if you put sliders on he can slide. Reason I keep saying if rode consistently is because he is not a horse I would say you can hop on after a long break and he is the same. He stays fairly broke and soft, but there have been a few times he was a little cold backed with me. Both times it was after having a few months off from riding and they were windy spring days, but I want to be upfront and honest about him. He is registered with AQHA and has his NRHA competition license. I know he is in the upper 90% for how much foundation quarter horse he has. He is a very nice horse to have around but I am going to college this fall and will not be able to take him with me. I would like to get back into barrel racing so I am willing to trade for a nice prospect that has had between 30-90 rides. Or I am asking $3,000 OBO. He has had his teeth done every year all of his life and is up to date on all of his vaccinations and wormings. Feel free to message me with any questions you have or if you are wanting to come try him. I am located in Lovell, Wyoming.
