How fresh are the Ads on HorseWeb?

The Ads in our system are refreshed every 15 - 40 minutes. And, since all Ads have an expiration date, the Ads in our system are guaranteed to be fresh, representing currently available horses, products and services. Any updates to the Ad will be posted within 15 - 40 minutes.

How much do classified Ads cost?

Basic Ads are free.

What is included in my Basic Ad?

10 photos, 2000 character description, email and website links, and placement in "The Holding Pen" and "Photo Gallery" (if at least one photo is included).

I'm a new User. How do I place an Ad?

First you must register with HorseWeb to place an Ad.

How do I register?

Click here to register for the first time. Please select a User Name, Password and email where you want to be contacted. The password must be 6 or more characters. Email addresses are only used by HorseWeb for the Ad notifications.

Why must I register?

We have you register so we can keep track of your Ads and maintain the security of your information.

How do I login?

What are the Steps for placing an Ad?

There are 5 Steps for placing an Ad:

STEP 1: Category

Once successfully logged in, you will be at STEP 1.
Start your new Ad by selecting   "New",
then select the Main Ad category from the pull down window.

The Main Ad Categories are Horses for Sale, Stallions Standing, Boarding, Real Estate, Livestock & Barnyard Pets, Trucks & Trailers, Tack & Equipment, Clothing/Apparel, Farriers, Training, Services, Art Books Gifts etc.

Then click   "Step 2 >>>" STEP 2: Description

Each Ad Category has its own set of information. Here you place the Ad Type or Breed, Description, Colors, Styles, Keywords, Location, etc. A few of the fields to fill out are required. The required fields are marked with an " * ".

You are allowed up to 150 words for the description field. Each additional word is ¢ .20/week.

STEP 3: Contact Info

The contact information is for the person or farm name used for answering questions about the Ad.

STEP 4: Ad Options

On the Ad Options page, you can add up to 10 photos for the free Basic Ad, as well as purchase a Featured Ad upgrade which. Featured Ads get a thumbnail picture, as well as full site rotation and display in all ads, links, and searches.

Photos:

Basic photo info
– Photos should be cropped to include only what you want to publish.
– Photos sizes are limited to 6MB per photo when uploading.
– Photos will be resized to about 450 x 350 pixels at 72 dpi (about 4 inches by 3 inches).
– You may send us the photos to scan. There will be a $3.00 scan charge per photo. If you would like us to return the photo(s) to you, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

How to add your photo
– Use the Browse buttons to locate one or more photos on your computer.
– Select Upload.
– Use View Photo links to preview photos.
– Repeat as needed.
– Click "Delete Photo #" to remove the photo you have specified.
Thumbnails

Thumbnails are smaller versions of Photo #1 that you upload. Our system copies and then resizes Photo #1 to a thumbnail size so your photo is placed next to the Ad text so it can stand out from all the rest. Thumbnails are included in the Featured Upgrade.

STEP 5: Review & Submit
On this Step you have the chance to see the Ad as it will appear online and the type of Ad you have any any options you have purchase.

From here you may update any Step.

Once you are ready,
click   "Submit Request"
and a page confirming your Ad placement will appear, and will give you the Ad ID#. You will also receive an email confirmation of your order with your Ad ID#.

Navigate Your Order
As you fill out each Step, you may navigate the order either with the push buttons at the bottom of the page, or with the graphic "Navigate Your Order".

On the "Navigate Your Order", you may go back to the specific Step to change, as long as it is check marked.

The "Modify" button at the bottom of the Steps pages will take you back to Step 1.

When will I see my Ad online?

New ads are go online within 15 - 40 minutes.

How do I find my Ad?

The quickest way is to use the "Search Classifieds" using the Ad ID #, and your Ad should appear.

Note:

To check updates of text and photos once the hour has elapsed, please refresh/reload the screen either with your refresh/reload button, or you can right click and scroll down to refresh.

How long will you keep my Ad online?

All ads are online for 26 weeks (6 months).

How do I edit my Ad?

All Ads can be renewed, modified, or even deleted. You must first login by going to http://www.horseweb.com/login. You will then need your User Name and Password.

At   "This Ad is:"   select   "An update of existing Ad. "
Click  "Step 2 >>>".
You will be given a full list of all your Ads.

You also have the option of just viewing the Ad you want to edit:
At   "Optional, Jump to Ad ID#:",
Type in the Ad ID # of the Ad you want to edit.
Click   "Step 2 >>>".
Only the Ad you specified will appear.

Underneath each Ad you own, three buttons appear.
Click on   "Update Ad #"
to edit your Ad and just follow the steps, editing the information you need to change or add.

You may edit your and and its photos as much as you need.

My Ad has expired and I want to renew. How do I renew my Ad?

Once an Ad has expired, we keep it in our database for several weeks before deleting it. To renew the Ad, follow the steps for

How do I delete my Ad?

To delete your Ad, you must first login by going to http://www.horseweb.com/login. You will then need your User Name and Password.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be taken to STEP 1.
At   "This Ad is:"   select   "An update of existing Ad."
If you then click   "Step 2 >>>"
you will be given a full list of all your ads.

If you have many ads on HorseWeb, you may want to view just the Ad you want to delete.
At   "Optional, Jump to Ad ID#:",
type in the Ad ID # of the Ad you want to edit. Only that Ad will appear when you
click on   "Step 2 >>>".

Underneath each Ad you own, three buttons appear.
Click on   "Delete Ad #".
A page with just this Ad comes up and two buttons show up below the Ad now. To confirm that you want to delete the Ad,
click   "Yes! Delete Ad ID #".
A page will come up confirming that you have deleted the Ad.

If you choose not to delete the Ad,
click on   "Keep Ad ID #"
and you will be taken back to Step 1.

Once deleted, the Ad cannot be retrieved.

How do I mark my Ad as "Sold"?

To mark your Ad as "Sold", you must first login by going to http://www.horseweb.com/login. You will then need your User Name and Password.

At   "This Ad is:" select   "An update of existing Ad."
If you then click   "Step 2 >>>"
you will be given a full list of all your ads.

You have the option of just viewing the Ad you want to mark sold.
At   "Optional, Jump to Ad ID#:",
type in the Ad ID # of the Ad you want to edit.
Only that Ad will appear when you click on   "Step 2 >>>".

Underneath each Ad you own, three buttons appear.
Click on   "Mark as SOLD Ad #".
A page with just this Ad comes up and two buttons show up below the Ad now. To confirm that you want to mark the Ad "Sold",
click   "Yes! Mark as SOLD Ad ID #".
A page will come up confirming that you have deleted the Ad.

If you choose not to mark the Ad "Sold",
click on   "Cancel Request"
and you will be taken back to Step 1.

After the ads have been generated, "Sold" appears near the Photo spot in the online Ad.

Are there any optional services?

The only optional service at Horseweb is the Featured Ad upgrade.

How do you handle security & privacy?

–We own and maintain our own servers and databases.
–Our customers' credit card information, and all customer information, is protected during transmission by SSL encryption.
–All classifieds are password protected.
–We never store credit card information.
–We never share our customers' information with any other party.
–When our customers' information is received, it is stored in a physically and electronically secure location, and protected by a firewall.
–We never bother our customers with any unsolicited emails.
–We never use cookies.

What type of payments do you accept?
Visa or Mastercard - Ad is online within 15 - 40 minutes.
Check via US Mail - Ad is online after we receive check.

Cancellation and Refunds

Any currently running classified Ad can be cancelled and Horseweb will refund the unused portion of the Advertising fee.

Scam Alert

HorseWeb has been notified of a few scams involving forged checks (usually cashiers checks). In the cases reported to us, the buyer agrees to purchase the horse, offering more than the asking price of the horse. The seller is then asked to send the difference to a third party for the shipping of the horse. If you suspect that you are being scammed, please notify the FBI, Federal Trade Commission, National Fraud Information Center or other appropriate police agency.

Please report any scam attempts to scam@horseweb.com so we can track the scammers.
