The Montana Wild West Fest at the historic Kleffner Ranch in East Helena. The Fest will be a two day celebration of Montana Frontier Heritage and a showcase for “All Things Western”. The Fest emphasizes the Montana cowboy era (1860 – 1920). Attractions include the largest gathering of Montana gunfighters in one place. Over 50 re-enactors and riders will be on hand for the daily shootouts at the Prairie Dog Town outdoor theater. National and local western entertainers will provide performances at the open-air stage. The 2009 Fest is expected to have all the fun and excitement of 2008 and more! Scheduled activities include Old West Re-Enactments / Shootouts, Chili Cook-off, Victorian Fashion Show, Pioneer Quilt Show, The Frontier Ball, Horse Rides, Living History Demonstrations, Cowboy Poets, Western Singers, Old Time Steam Equipment, 2nd U.S. Cavalry Military Encampment, Vendors, Western Food, Wagon Rides and Children's Activities.
