Congratulations to Lindsey Kite of Glencoe, Illinois! Lindsey is 17 years old and currently maintains the #1 and #2 rankings in the WIHS Children's Jumper division on Geronimo and Brandy Delight! Lindsey's #1 horse, ex-racehorse Geronimo, is an 11 y.o., TB gelding. He has been known to be quite the escape artist from the barn during horse shows.

"He likes to get out of his stall and wander around - checking things out. He usually gets tired, ends up having a good roll, then has to go back to his stall," said Lindsey.

Lindsey's 1,600 points on Geronimo and 1,400 points on Brandy Delight have been partially earned at the Ledges Classics horse shows in Illinois. If she qualifies, Lindsey and her trainer Lance Williamson will make the long trip to compete at Washington in the WIHS Children's Jumper Championship - hopefully leaving the nation's capital with her share of the $10,000 prize money!

Congratulations also to 15 year old Heather Padella of Traverse City, Michigan, the current point leader in the Children's Hunter division. Heather rides Just Like Magic, a 16 year old TB gelding. This is her first year riding on the A circuit, and she has also gained many of her points at the Ledges Classic horse shows in Illinois. With Melissa Hirt as her trainer, Heather has her sights set on qualifying for the finals at the Washington International Horse Show. She hopes to move up to Equitation and later on, to jumpers in the next couple of years.

"If I qualify for Washington, it will be beyond my wildest dreams.it would be amazing to be in the nation's capital and competing along side the best riders in the country. I'd be a little nervous, but really excited!" said Heather.
