$25,000 Winsome Dressage/Jumper Spectacular This Saturday at The Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, Florida 1-30-2003 - In what is one of the most
entertaining classes of the WEF season, the annual Winsome
Dressage/Jumper Spectacular, is attracting a notable field of 12 Teams
of Jumper/Dressage riders, who switch roles, vying for the $25,000 purse
sponsored by Winsome Farms. The class begins Saturday afternoon at
3:00PM featuring some of the top riders on the WEF jumper show scene,
performing the brand new USAE Third level test. At 4:30, the action
switched from the dressage arena, to the main showjumping field, where
dressage riders compete in a Hit and Hurry class. Olympian Anne
Kursinksi and Danish/American Wellington resident, Bent Jensen will be
defending their postion as the winning team for the past 3 years.
USET Pan American Dressage Team Selection Trials to Begin This Weekend
at Wellington Dressage Dressage at the 2003 Winter Equestrian Festival
begins this weekend with the first selection trial for the USET Pan
American Team Selection Trials. The Selection Trials are part of the
qualifying process for the US dressage team headed for the Pan Am Games
to be held in August in the Dominican Republic.
The Prix St George class will be held on Thursday, January 29, and the
Intermediare I class on Friday. The final trials will be held at USET
headquarters in Gladstone, New Jersey, June 19-22 for the top 12
qualified riders. Dressage at the Pan Am Games is contested at the Prix
St. Georges level rather than Grand Prix as in the Olympics or World
Equestrian Games.
Dressage Freestyle Classes will be held Sunday morning prior to the
Bayer/USET Gold Coast Classic Showjumping Grand Prix beginning at 2:PM.

Tickets to the Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at
793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12
& under are free all days. Senior admission is $5 every day. Adult
admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday, and $15 on
Sunday. Parking is free.
