Tucker Johnson Wins CAI Riesenbeck

Gladstone, NJ-July 6, 2000-Tucker Johnson of Oldwick, NJ, and his team owned
by Mr. and Mrs. James L. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Duke, defeated a
field of 36 international drivers to win the CAI Riesenbeck, June 29 - July 2
in Germany.
Johnson, who was the only U.S. driver competing at Riesenbeck, took the lead
during the dressage phase with a score of 36.64. After finishing seventh in
the marathon phase with a score of 76.52, he regrouped to secure his victory
with a 5.00 score in the cones phase. His final score of 120.16 was more
than two points ahead of Sweden's Tomas Eriksson who finished second with a
score of 122.70. Belgium's Gert Schrijvers finished third with a score of
125.68.
Johnson was ranked third in the world in 1999 on the FEI Four-In-Hand list,
and was recently named by the USET (along with James Fairclough and Bill
Long) to represent the United States at the FEI World Four-In-Hand
Championship in Wolfsburg, Germany, August 24-27. In 1998, he was fifth at
the World Four-In-Hand Championship in Rome. He is also the reining USET
Four-In-Hand Champion, having won the Championship in 1998 and 1999.
