Wadsworth, IL—December 11, 2001—The National Disability Sports Alliance
(NDSA) is pleased to invite Young Riders with disabilities to apply for an
opportunity to compete in the fourth annual Team Challenge at the 2002 North
American Young Riders’ Championships (NAYRC). The 2002 NAYRC will be held
at Tempel Farms in Wadsworth, IL August 6-11, 2002.
The Team Challenge features riders with disabilities in individual and team
competition in conjunction with the able-bodied young riders competing at
the Championship. Each team includes riders from the disciplines of
Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping plus a disabled rider who competes in
Dressage. The able-bodied riders’ scores from their regular competitions
are combined with the disabled rider’s score to determine each team’s total.
NDSA would like to thank Judy Nagy from ACORD, Hallie McEvoy and Sandy Dota
(team Chef d’Equipe) for their work in creating the Team Challenge. Through
their hard work and dedication over the past three years, this event has
become a successful part of the NAYRC.
