Gladstone, New Jersey - September 21, 2001- Veteran United States Equestrian Team (USET) driver, Chester Weber of Ocala, FL is among the ten international Four-in-Hand drivers who have qualified for the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) Indoor World Cup of Driving.

In addition to Weber who will compete with his own team, Michael Freund, Ludwig Weinmayr and Christoph Sandmann from Germany; the Netherlands’ two-time World Champion Ysbrand Chardon and Harry de Ruyter; Switzerland’s Werner Ulrich and Daniel Wergler; Reigning World Champion Tomas Eriksson of Sweden; and Belgium’s Gert Schrijvers have qualified.

The World Cup starts on November 17, 2001 in Stuttgart, followed in two-week intervals by Stockholm, Amsterdam and Mechelen. After a break of six weeks, the World Cup resumes on February 10, 2002 in Bordeaux, followed by Dortmund, ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Gothenburg.

The five drivers who will compete in the World Cup Opener in Stuttgart are Freund, Ulrich, Schrijvers, Weber and Weinmayr. They will be joined by a local driver who will compete as a Wild Card.

Weber will travel to Stockholm, where he will compete against Eriksson, Wergler, de Ruyter, Sandman and a Wild Card from Sweden. This summer, Weber finished in 7th place at the CHIO Aachen placing above four World Champions. In 2000, he finished in 13th place in individual competition at the FEI World Four in Hand Championships in Wolfsburg, Germany.
