Molly Ashe Named USET Athlete of the Month for March

Gladstone, NJ'April 2, 2001'Molly Ashe of Wellington, FL was named United
States Equestrian Team (USET) Athlete of the Month for March following her
win with Kroon Gravin, owned by Sandra O'Donnell, at the $200,000 Budweiser
American Invitational Tampa, FL
Ashe posted two clear rounds and the fastest jump-off time of 52.846
seconds. The win secured Kroon Gravin's title as the American Grand Prix
Association (AGA) Horse of the Year for the 2000/2001 season and capped off
an incredible week for Ashe, who won the $76,555 Grand Prix on Tampa, a FEI
world cup qualifier, on March 25th with double clear rounds and the fastest
time of 34.21 seconds.
In 2000, Ashe, who was a USET Developing Rider grant recipient,
was named USET Athlete of the month in November following her
Grand Prix
victories at both the Eternit Grand Prix of Germany and the Audi
Grand Prix
of Masstricht in Holland. Ashe beat such international show
jumping stars
as Switzerland's Beat Mandli and Willi Melliger, Germany's
Franke Sloothaak,
Ludger and Markus Beerbaum, Great Britain's John and Michael
Whitaker, and
Austria's Hugo Simon. Additionally Ashe won the Banco Herrero
Grand Prix in
Gijon, Spain as part of the USET's Show Jumping Developing Rider
Tour and
was one of only two riders to post double clear rounds in The
Samsung
Nations Cup World Final in Rome.
