Annual GMC Sierra World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity in Reno, NV on
September 20 - October 1. Crawford, 42, finished second to six-time Open
Championship winner Ted Robinson.
Riding Tangys Classy Lady (Tangys Classy Peppy x Lady Reminic), a sorrel mare
owned by Kay and Alan Needle, Crawford posted 218 points in herd work, 223
points for his dry run, and a 216 in fence work. The pair recently finished
on top in the High Desert Western Spectacular Futurity in Bend, OR.
In other divisions at the show, Crawford galloped away with the Pro Equine
Open Hackamore Classic mounted on Shine Like Hail, also owned by Kay and Alan
Needle. Additionally, Crawford won the Purina Open Bridle class on Smokin
Master, owned by Adam Williams.
"I had a great show," stated Crawford. "My horses were very good - actually
beyond good. I'd like to turn in this sort of performance every year at the
Snaffle Bit Futurity. I am very privileged to ride for the owners I have, and
I want to thank them for all their support. I'd also like to thank Supracor
for being one of my sponsors."
