Levy Leads East Conference of the
Explorer Biolan/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame

Tampa, FL-August 29, 2000-Kate Levy of Katonah, NY and the East Conference of
the Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series with
82 points. Lindsay Dawn Curtis of Needham, MA is in second place with 62
points following two consecutive wins at the Vermont Summer Festival.
After nine events, the top ranked riders in the Eastern Conference are:

Curtis won the class at the Valley Classic Horse Show over 15 competitors and
dominated the six-person jump-off with Costello. She was the only rider to go
clean and won with a time of 34.845. Jeff Brandmaier of Sacramento, CA, and
Mary Moricoli of Wilmette, IL, finished second and third, respectively.
Curtis was in the winner's circle for the second consecutive week at the
Sugarbush Horse Show. Brian Walker of Quebec and his Leroy finished second,
followed by Rory Hovel of Sperryville, VA and In Flight in third.
Of the 23 competitors that entered the Sussex County Horse Show only eight
advanced to the jump-off. Vanessa Haas and Robert Haas's Viking's DeMoyon
came away with the win after their blistering clean round in 28.336 seconds.
Monnie Gilder was close behind in 28.622 seconds aboard Poseidon's Venture's
Louisa. Caitlin Venezia of Marstons Mills, MA rode her Jasmine to finish
third in 29.247 seconds.
The Mad River Festival was Jennifer Jones's time to shine. Jones of Marion,
SC won the class by riding clean in the six-person jump-off with Hillary
Schlusemeyer's Let's Dance Jil. Lili Fortin of Montreal, Quebec finished
second aboard Accino, followed by Moricoli and her Feleena in third.
At the Attitash Bear Peak Equine Festival in Mt. Washington Valley, New
Hampshire, Judy Garofalo of Old Westbury, NY rode her Aphnee to win the
class. Levy finished second with Opus, followed by Christine Fallon riding
her Zalza.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series gives Amateur-Owner
and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a
proving ground for riders who aspire to someday represent the United States
in international competition.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall Fame Series has expanded to 44
shows for the 2000 season. The series, which runs February through November,
is divided into three geographical conferences: the East Conference hosting
20 shows, the Midwest Conference hosting 10 shows and the West Conference
hosting 14 shows. Conference point standings are calculated separately and
updated after all shows. At the end of the series, a championship is awarded
for each conference with the East and Midwest Conference champions honored at
the National Horse Show in New York and the West Conference champion honored
at the Los Angeles National Horse Show in Burbank, CA.
