Peter Meuse Leads Midwest Conference of the
Explorer Biolan/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame

Tampa, FL-August 23, 2000- With just one event remaining, Peter Meuse of
Lancaster, OH is sitting atop the Midwest Conference standings of the
Explorer Biolan/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series. Meuse
and Comodoro lead the series with 80 points after winning two Explorer
BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame classes at the Motor City and the
Detroit Horse Shows.
After nine events, the top ranked riders in the Midwest Conference are:

Ellen Talbert of Cedarburg, WI jumped into second place in the standings
with her victory at the Greater Cincinnati Classic Horse Show. Riding Bayside
Farm's Corde Corrado, Talbert was one of six riders to advance to the
jump-off. She secured her win by going clean in 31.023 seconds. Sherri Wenal
and Dance Til Dawn Farm's Concerto finished with four faults in 36.040
seconds to take second place. Meuse and Timbertop Investment's Comodoro
finished third.
At the Chicago Equifest II, Nimet Browne took top honors with Chad
Whatridge's Rosey. Chrissy Renz and her Boo-Dah finished second, followed by
Jennifer Urioste and Ricochet in third.
At the Traders Point Horse Show, Christian Currey of Franklin, TN rode
Mr. & Mrs. Brownlee Currey's Diplomat to victory over a field of 33
competitors. With a time of 40.558, Currey was the only rider in the jump-off
to go clean. Robert Kraut of Ocononowoc, WI finished second with Caviar,
followed by Currey and Point Blank in third.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series gives Amateur-Owner
and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a
proving ground for riders who aspire to someday represent the United States
in international competition.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall Fame Series has expanded to 44
shows for the 2000 season. The series, which runs February through November,
is divided into three geographical conferences: the East Conference hosting
20 shows, the Midwest Conference hosting 10 shows and the West Conference
hosting 14 shows. Conference point standings are calculated separately and
updated after all shows. At the end of the series, a championship is awarded
for each conference with the East and Midwest Conference champions honored at
the National Horse Show in New York and the West Conference champion honored
at the Los Angeles National Horse Show in Burbank, CA.
