USET Announces Departure of Show Jumping and Dressage Horses to
Sydney for 2000 Olympic Games

Gladstone, NJ- August 21, 2000-The United States Equestrian Team (USET) is
pleased to announce the departure of the Olympic Show Jumping and Dressage
horses heading to Sydney to compete in the 2000 Olympic Games.
The following horses will be departing from Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX) at 4:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Tuesday August 22, 2000 to
represent the U.S. in Show Jumping:
- Hidden Creek's Perin, owned by Hidden Creek Farm and ridden by Margie
Goldstein Engle;
- Rhythmical, owned by Nona Garson and the Kamine Family and ridden by Nona
Garson;
- Liberty, owned by the Summit Group and ridden by Laura Kraut;
- Clasiko, owned by the Clasiko Group and ridden by Lauren Hough; and
- Oh Star, owned and ridden by Todd Minikus, to serve as alternate.
The dressage horses are:
- Flim Flam, owned by Fritz Kundrun and the Dressage Sponsor Corp. and
ridden by Sue Blinks;
- Ranier, owned by Jane F. Clark and ridden by Robert Dover;
- Foltaire, owned by Dick and Jane Brown and ridden by Guenter Seidel;
- Etienne, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Haas and ridden by Christine
Traurig; and
- Fidelia, owned and ridden by Kathleen Raine, to serve as alternate.
The final Eventing Short List of final twelve horses shipped to Australia on
July 31 from Louisville, KY. The final squad of seven horses to represent
the U.S. will be selected from the twelve horses that were shipped to Sydney
in July. The horses are:
- Hyde Park Corner, owned by Jim & Janet Richards and ridden by Julie Black;
- Chevalier owned by Deirdre Pirie and ridden by Robert Costello;
- Special Attention owned by Debbie & Tony Rosati and ridden by Buck Davidson;
- Highland Hogan, owned by Faye C. and David Woolf and ridden by Becky Douglas;
3 Magic Beans, owned and ridden by Nina Fout;
- Jacob Two Two, owned by Team Lufkin and ridden by Abigail Lufkin;
- Hannigan, owned by Team Lufkin and ridden by Abigail Lufkin;
- Rattle N Hum, owned by David S. Lenaburg and ridden by David O'Connor;
- Custom Made owned by Xandarius LLC and ridden by David O'Connor;
- Giltedge owned by Jacqueline B. Mars and ridden by David O'Connor;
- Prince Panache, owned by Jacqueline B. Mars and ridden by Karen O'Connor;
- Anderoo, owned by Barbara and James Wiesman and ridden by Linden
Wiesman.
