Jenny Williams Maintains Lead in West Conference
Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame

Tampa, FL-August 15, 2000-Competition is tight with five events left in the
West Conference of the Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper
Classic Series. Jenny Williams of Oakland, CA and her mount Mariska are still
in the lead with 52 points after winning the Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show
Jumping Hall of Fame class at The Oaks Classic and finishing second in the
Memorial Day Classic. After nine events, the top ranked riders in the Western
Conference are:

In the ninth event of the Western Conference series-the Showpark Racing
Special in Del Mar, CA-Erika Scherer of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, claimed her
first win of the series. One of three riders to advance to the jump-off,
Scherer was the only rider to ride clean. Blakely Wickstrom of Rancho Santa
Fe, CA and Rodeo finished second with four faults and a time of 58.7 seconds.
Diane Dawson and Flipper rode to a third place finish with four faults in
66.454 seconds.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series gives Amateur-Owner
and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a
proving ground for riders who aspire to someday represent the United States
in international competition.
The Explorer BIOLAN/NHSF Show Jumping Hall Fame Series has expanded to 44
shows for the 2000 season. The series, which runs February through November,
is divided into three geographical conferences: the East Conference hosting
20 shows, the Midwest Conference hosting 10 shows and the West Conference
hosting 14 shows. Conference point standings are calculated separately and
updated after all shows. At the end of the series, a championship is awarded
for each conference with the East and Midwest Conference champions honored at
the National Horse Show in New York and the West Conference champion honored
at the Los Angeles National Horse Show in Burbank, CA.
