Less than half a point shy of the Paralympic Bronze, Keith Newerla and
Lumberjack turned in a noteworthy performance in the Grade I Dressage
Individual Championship Tuesday. With a 69.684% overall, Newerla placed
fourth-behind two-time Gold medalist Lee Pearson of Great Britain

Christiansen (70.000%).
"I made some mistakes that I have to eliminate in the future," Newerla
said after his performance. But the 21-year-old was quick to praise
Lumberjack, and already, has his eye on the next goal-the Freestyle
competition. "In the first stage of today's competition, I got an idea
of what I have to do on Thursday," he said.
Placing less than a point behind Newerla, U.S. Paralympic equestrian
Lynn Seidemann rode Phoenix B to a fifth place finish, with a score of
68.947%.
In other team news, Barbara Grassmyer and Mibis placed 11th in the
