Jonelle Chovanec, 23, of Chicago, Illinois, rode Starmaker's Look At Me to
the top spot in the 2nd USA Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final, held July
12, 2002 as part of the Lexington Junior League Show in Lexington, Kentucky.
Judges Linda Lowary of Lexington, Kentucky, Anne Judd of Tampa, Florida and
Gayle Lampe of Fulton, Missouri were the judges for the class of ten of the
top adult amateur equitation riders in the country. Subsequent to selecting
Chovanec, trained by Scott Matton, by unanimous decision in the championship
position, the judges selected Dr. Morgan Wolin of Chicago, Illinois and CF
Cool Night Out to finish in the reserve spot.
The champion received a Patricia Crane resin horse head sculpture donated by
Rob and Sarah Byers and Jimmy and Helen Robertson, a Triple Crown Custom
cooler, a leather halter donated by State Line Tack, red roses and a
championship ribbon.
