Steffen Peters of Escondido, California, finished 8th in the 2002 Dressage
World Cup Finals held in
's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, March 21-24. Peters, riding the Dutch
Warmblood gelding, Grandeur (John U To Berry xx X Cisca) secured 8th place
with a score of 68.39% in the Grand Prix and a score of 74.69% to capture
the 8th spot in the Freestyle event.
Peters said, "I couldn't be happier. I was pleased with both performances
and I believe the Freestyle score is the highest I have ever gotten in a
Freestyle. To be included in the top percentages is a great honor."
U.S. rider Lisa Wilcox, who is currently based in Germany, finished the
Grand Prix and the Freestyle in 13th place with scores of 64.29% and 70.72%
respectively aboard the Oldenburg stallion, Rohdiamant (Rubinstein I x
Elektia V.)
German rider Ula Salzgeber finished with a score of 76.98% to capture the
top spot for the second year in a row riding the Latvian Warmblood gelding
