NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
October 10, 2001
USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today that Lisa Wilcox continued
her winning form at the Bremen CDI*** in Germany, October 4-7, 2001, when
she captured four classes to beat strong European competition, which
included Germany's Sydney Olympic bronze medalist, Ulla Salzgeber, and
Ingrid and Michael Klimke. Originally from Thousand Oaks, CA, and now based
in Cappeln, Germany, with Gestet Vorwerk which owns the horses she rides,
Wilcox won the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Ker riding the ten-year-old
Oldenburg stallion Relevant 5 (Rubinstein I-Havanna) with scores of 72.20%
and 76.94% respectively.
In two Prix St. Georges classes, Wilcox also topped the leader board, this
time riding the seven-year-old Oldenburg stallion, Regal Dancer, (Rubenstein
I x Wicke) with scores of 69.75% and 70.90% respectively. In each class,
she beat Germany's Michael Klimke, the son of world famous Olympic dressage
veteran, Dr. Reiner Klimke.
"The fun part is that I have so many good horses at the moment," said a
delighted Wilcox. "There's been a lot of interest in the success I'm having
here in Europe."
Wilcox, who is trained by Ernst Hoyos from the Spanish Riding School in
Vienna, Austria, also rides the 11-year-old Rodiamant and his full brother,
the seven-year-old Royal Diamond. Both Rubinstein I sons will be competing
in Dusseldorf CDI-W October19-21, 2001. Royal Diamond and Regal Dancer have
qualified for the Prix St. Georges at Frankfurt CDI*** from December 14-16,
2001.
