Champions Crowned at Inaugural 2001 Monarch
International/AHSA Junior Hunter National Championship

USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today the winners of the inaugural
2001 Monarch International/AHSA Junior Hunter National Championship which
took place August 12-13th, 2001 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural
Center, Fletcher, NC.
Exhibitors have gone head-to-head over the past two days competing in an
over-fences class, a handy hunter class and an under-saddle class after
qualifying to compete in this new event by winning a Championship or Reserve
Championship at an "A" or "AA" rated AHSA competition between July 16, 2000
and July 15, 2001.
Overall Large Junior Hunter Champion - Callie Schott (Almost Famous),
Versailles, KY - owner/rider.
Overall Small Junior Hunter Champion - Courtney McKay (Onyz), Ocala, FL;
owner - Aspen Grove Ranch, Los Angeles, CA.
Grand Champion - Onyz
Reserve Grand Champion - Almost Famous.
Following on from this event will be the 2001 AHSA Pony Finals, which begins
today at the same venue and runs through Friday, August 17th 2001.
