USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today the results of the 2001 FEI
North American Young Riders' Championships presented by State Line Tack,
which was held at Tempel Farms in Wadsworth, IL from August 8-12, 2001.
U.S. riders dominated the three championship events of dressage, show
jumping and eventing by producing medalists in both team and individual
competitions. The championships are considered a USA Junior Olympics -
equestrian event and provide valuable competition for young riders between
the ages of 16-21 as they advance to the senior ranks. NAYRC riders from
North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Bermuda, the Province of
Canada as well as USA Equestrian Zone (show jumping), USDF Region (dressage)
and USCTA Area (eventing) are invited to compete. The NAYRC began in 1974 in
Jokers Hill, Newmarket, Ontario as an eventing challenge between the United
States and Canada. Tempel Farms first hosted the competition in 1985 where
it has since been held on 12 occasions.
