Riding Liberty, her Olympic mount, a 10 year-old Dutch bred mare, Kraut defeated a field of 45 riders. Out of the original 45 riders, only 7 made it to the deciding jump-off. Kraut went third in the jump-off and finished ahead of the second place rider by 1.16 seconds. Kraut, 35, finished second in this event last year and was determined to gallop to victory this year.
