Only 2 Horses Made It to the Jump-off Phase of the $50,000 Kilkenny/ICH Internationale Cup

Wellington, FL February 9, 2003 Today at the Winter Equestrian
Festival, the featured class began at 2:30 PM with the $50,000
Kilkenny/ICH Internationale Cup. Only 2 horses made it to the jump-off
in the class of 33 entries. Argentinean, Federico Sztyrle won with
Caya, going just a fraction of a second faster than McLain Ward riding Rio. Caya
is a chestnut Holsteiner mare owned by Sag Pond Farm of Sagaponack, NY.
Leopold Palacious-Jugo of Caracas, Venezuela was the course designer.
In the equitation rings this week, the BET/USET Show Jumping Talent
Search had 2 sections. Abby Carpenter won one section with Michael
Morrissey in second place. The second section of the BET/USET Show
Jumping Talent Search was won by Haylie Jayne with Patti Scialfa in
second.
The WIHS Equitation Class had 71 entries and Michael Morrissey, trained
by Missy Clark, was the overall winner.
In the first section of the ASPCA Maclay, Daisy Johnson won with Gabby
Sloam in second. In section B of the ASPCA Maclay, Leigh Healey was the
winner with Kate Landau in second. The USA Equestrian Medal was won by
Tania Hack with second going to Danielle Goldstein in a group of 45
entries.

Tickets to the Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at
793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12
& under are free all days. Senior admission is $5 every day. Adult
admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday, and $15 on
Sunday. Parking is free.
