The American Horse Shows Association (AHSA) announced today that the 2002 Date applications for December 2001 through March 2002 have all been reviewed and the approval and/or permission letters have been mailed to the show contacts. It is believed to be the fastest turn-around time on date applications in the history of the AHSA. The second deadline for 2002 Date applications is May 15, 2001. Once this deadline passes, Christine Ruddy, Director of the Competitions Department, will start approving competitions that will run April 2002 through November 2002, in month order, beginning with the Date renewals, then working on competitions that will have changes in date, location, rating and new competitions for 2002.

"The Competitions Department has worked hard over the past few years to improve the system in which we process date applications. We made huge progress in the turn-around time on the 2001 Date applications, but we are even farther ahead of schedule this year and we hope to keep ahead of schedule with the second deadline of May 15, almost upon us," said Ruddy.

The 2002 competition dates from December 2001 through March 2002 are currently available on our website at www.ahsa.org under Competitions.
