West Palm Beach, FL Dressage riders Carrie Schopf from Germany and Shannon
Dueck formerly from Canada, triumphed in the FEI Intermediaire I classes at
the Gold Coast Dressage Association Finale I Show, bringing home blue
ribbons and prizes donated by The Oaks of Lake City. Dueck and Schopf were
presented with beautiful garment bags from the Oaks of Lake City, a
residential community in Northern Florida designed to enhance the equestrian
lifestyle.
Dueck won the FEI Intermediaire I Open on S Infinity, owned by Dr. Cetty
Weiss, with a score of 68.289 %. Dueck was pleased with the Westphalian
gelding and said, S Infinity is spectacular. In this test he had the most
consistent collection throughout that he has ever had. His movement is so
amazing that to maintain collection is hard, so I was thrilled.
Dueck, who now lives year-round in Loxahatchee, Florida, has dual
citizenship in Canada and the United States. She has long been one of
Canadas leading dressage riders, having represented Canada at the 1999 Pan
Am Games, the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, the 2003 World
Cup Final, and the 2003 Open European Dressage Championships. Dueck now
rides for the US.
It is wonderful that The Oaks of Lake City is a sponsor at the dressage
shows. I know their facility is beautiful, Dueck said. They also awarded me
with a beautiful garment bag and Im thrilled because I really needed a new
one.
Schopf and her horse Donald captured the title in the FEI Intermediaire I AA
class with a score of 65.000%. Schopf was also thrilled with her garment bag
from The Oaks of Lake City, as well as Donalds progress.
Born in California, Schopf has spent the past 15 years living in Bremen,
Germany with her husband, Bernd Schopf, a German dressage rider. Schopf and
her horse Donald, a 10-year-old Hanoverian, were returning to Germany
shortly after the dressage show.
