West Palm Beach, FL Shannon Dueck proved shes a force to be reckoned with
when it comes to taking home the coveted silver-topped Sho Clothes Whip that
is awarded at dressage shows by Sho Clothes dressage boutique. Dueck and
Ringo Starr added a fourth Sho Clothes Whip to Duecks collection at the
recent Gold Coast Dressage Association Finale I show, winning the engraved
whip and the FEI Prix St Georges Open class with a score of 72.895%.
Im always thrilled to win the Sho Clothes Whip, its a beautiful whip, Dueck
said, adding with a smile, One of the whips I won was used at the
Professional Riders Symposium by Hubertus Schmidt this year, so once it had
been touched by the master I couldnt use it anymore so I needed a new one.
While Dueck, of Loxahatchee, Florida, was thrilled with adding another whip
to her growing collection, she was also pleased with Ringo Starrs
performance. The 16.2 hand, chestnut Oldenburg gelding by Relevant is owned
by Jean Vinios of Dover, Massachusetts.
I was thrilled with how easily he performed the test. Hes getting much
stronger in his work and that gives me a lot of confidence as we are trying
for the Intermediaire I Championships at Gladstone this year, Dueck said.
Winning the Sho Clothes Whip keeps Dueck in excellent company. Past winners
have included Michelle Gibson, Kristy Lund, Janne Rumbough, Mindy Elgart,
Jane Springer, Jan Brons and Lisa Wilcox. Their signature whip is a perfect
example of the classic and unique approach Sho Clothes takes to supporting
the dressage community, said Dueck. In addition to supporting dressage
riders of all levels, they always have really exceptional clothes and
accessories in their shop.
Sho Clothes is co-owned by Michele Hundt, a former amateur dressage rider
and accomplished art director, and Betsy Rebar Sell, a dressage rider who
won a Gold Medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. The boutique is a shopping
destination for dressage riders from all over the world and they have been
serving the dressage community since 2001. In addition, Sho Clothes hosts a
monthly get together for dressage riders called Shop Talk, which has become
a hot spot for riders to gather with top professionals in the equine
industry.
