Wellington, FL- Leslie Howard flew over the Absorbine(r) Myoplast(r)
1.50m Classic course on Jeans Glove Varnel crossing the "wire" in
40.32. Her 7/8 thoroughbred mare finished a clear round almost two
seconds ahead of the runner-up. When 18 challengers advanced to the
jump-off, three former Olympian riders turned in the lowest times.
The competition confirmed a first-class combination of sheer talent
and speed over the Christa Heibach designed course.
"She's a really fast mare, she's 7/8 American thoroughbred, so she's
naturally fast," said Howard of Jeans Glove Varnel. "I've had this
mare for three years now, and she suffered a very bad, almost career-
ending injury over a year ago, and it has been a long process
bringing her back. R. J. Brandes is a part-owner, and I really
appreciate his patience."

Myoplast cooler to Howard. With unconcealed delight they watched the
professionals navigate their mounts through the tight turns and fly
over the fences. "It was an amazing sight," said Jim Morris,

the world."
