Alise Oken Captures More Championships At Pennsylvania National Horse Show

Pennsylvania National Horse Show continued into its second week in Harrisburg<
/st1:city>,
PA. The show will run through Saturday, October 18, 2008. Last
week the schedule was full of the junior hunter, jumper, and equitation
classes.
Charlotte, NC
,
junior riders Alise and Lucie Oken train at Hi Hopes Farm LLC. The facility is
home to some of the countries best hunters, jumpers, and ponies. Located in We
ddington,
NC, Hi Hopes Farm is known for producing
horses and riders of the highest quality. The Oken's ride with Steve Heinecke
and Jeff Wirthman; Heinecke has a riding/training background and Wirthman has a
judging/training background.
Last week at the prestigious Pennsylvania Nation
al Horse
Show, Alise Oken continued her successful tour in the junior hunters. Aboard
her horse Take Away, Oken was reserve champion in the Large Junior 16-17
Hunters. She won a stake class and was third and sixth in two other classes.
Steve Heinecke commented, "She was great. Her riding was
strong and I was extremely pleased with how the show went. Take Away was a star
as usual and we are looking forward to Washington.
Alise won the stake class, which is always exciting."
Riding Southern St
yle, another one of Oken's Large Junior
16-17 Hunters, she was fifth under saddle. In the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters,
Oken and mount Alisette
finished third in an under saddle class. She also competed in the $10,000
Adequan/USEF Prix de States Team Championship class. Oken and three other team
members represented Zone 3.
Lucie Oken participated in the pony hunters last
week as
well. Riding in the small, medium and large pony divisions, Oken came away with
some competitive ribbons of her own. In the Smalls, Oken and pony Hi Lite ended
up in sixth place in conformation hunter and fifth under saddle. Aboard
Promise, Oken's medium pony, the pair earned a seventh place ribbon over
fences. Riding Land's End Mad Hatter, Oken's large pony,
she finished in seventh place over fences and under saddle.
"Lucie had s
ome great rides on her ponies. She performed
well, and I have no complaints on how she did," stated Heinecke.
Both Ok
en girls will compete next at the Washington International
Horse Show, which is scheduled to be held October 21-26,
2008.
