Roscoe, IL - June 3, 2008 - This past weekend Laura Linback took second place in the $25,000 Ledges Grand Prix at the Ledges Spring Classic in Roscoe, IL. Linback piloted the stallion As Di Villagana, owned by Woodrun Farm, to the red ribbon, missing the win by two tenths of a second. Linback resides in Mundelein, IL, and trains with Diane Carney of Telluride Farm.

"She put in two great rounds," commented Carney. "Twenty-four competed in the class, and it was a good, large, galloping course. The combinations were balancing, and there was also a tough triple bar to a vertical to an oxer. Laura balanced her horse beautifully. She hit a stride and never took back. She was just spectacular."

The students at Telluride Farm will compete next at the Showplace Spring Spectacular Horse Shows, held at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL. Recently Telluride Farm's Caitie Hope of Barrington, IL, earned top ribbons at the Devon Horse Show and the Atlanta Spring Premiere Horse Show in Conyers, GA. Hope, Stephanie Pearson and Hannah Gorman, who all train with Carney, also found success at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows in Lexington, KY.

Carney, based out of Hampshire, IL, has been both an active participant and influential trainer in the hunter and jumper community for many years. Her contributions to the industry extend to the many clinics that she teaches every year, in addition to those that she hosts annually for U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George H. Morris and top hunter/jumper trainer Don Stewart Jr. Carney is also an active member of the United States Hunter Jumper Association's High Performance Hunter Committee, which seeks to develop a program that will bring the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.
