WESTPORT, CT - June 30, 2008 - Kirsten Coe aboard Starlight owned by Laura King-Kaplan emerged victorious at the $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix on Saturday, June 28, 2008, the culminating event of the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show in Westport, Connecticut. On hand to bestow The Callari Cup were George N. Venizelos of Wachovia Securities LLC, the presenting sponsor of the Grand Prix, Claire Sussman and Catherine Herman, co-chairs of the show, along with the Chairman, Jenny Belknap, and President, Lynn Coakley, of The EQUUS Foundation, Inc.

Over 450 guests attended the EQUUS Benefit Grand Prix Luncheon, held in conjunction with the Grand Prix, and enjoyed a champagne reception, silent auction, and delicious buffet while watching 20 talented riders and horses performing at the highest level of competition.

Over $225,000 was raised at the event thanks to the generosity of individual and corporate donors, including New Country Lexus of Westport, Newman's Own Foundation, Fairfield Equine Associates, The Coast Fox Combo (96.7 The Coast & 95.9 Fox Classic Fox), U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, Chopard, Coca-Cola North America, Hospital for Special Surgery, Lux Bond & Green Jewelers, Tory's LLP, Agriventures Agway, Margaret Bondy Interiors, Barbara C. Manion, O.D., and New York Sports Club.
